Technical Degree in Game Art and Design Launch

The TVET Council was preparing to launch its first technical degree programme in partnership with Barbados Community College. As a new programme with its first cohort still to be recruited, the launch needed to introduce the degree to the public, build awareness and generate interest from prospective students.

I developed the communications plan for the launch and coordinated communications and event activities from planning through to delivery. This included media relations, press releases, video production, interviews, digital and printed invitations, event materials, staff and student T-shirts, photography coordination and the livestream of the launch.

I also supported the planning and delivery of the launch event, working with the wider team and external vendors to create an experience that reflected the programme's focus on game art and animation, including themed décor and live video game character performers.

The campaign helped introduce the new programme to the Barbadian public and supported recruitment of a full first cohort, with additional applicants placed on a waitlist.
